The behind the scenes features for CATS makes for a hilariously depressing watch.

I had no clue how much effort went into this half-baked garbage-souffle of a movie.

Everyone seemed so genuinely excited during the making of it. Actual honest to god genuine passion. They had incredible dancers and huge props built. They also had some pretty awesome stage-like use of the props as well. This ended up being all for nothing.

The problem is that one could easily assume (I sure did) that the dancing and the props were not real. The main reason is due to how terribly they covered up everything in bad CGI.

The cast (excluding some of the bigger stars) explain with sheer giddiness how this movie is the dream-role of a life time for them.

The further the special features go, the more you start to cringe since you can see where the issues started to come into play. You can hear the presenter of a later bonus feature (Francesca Hayward I believe) explaining the genius of the now released movie, except now it sounds like someone is off camera holding cue cards and while pointing a gun at her. You also are given some incredibly artsy explanations of the deeper meaning of every detail of the movie by the director himself. In reality it sounds like something that would make my 11th grade English teacher proud. You also learn that he could never turn down any idea that someone suggested, no matter how stupid.

The bonus features have some amazingly hilarious moments due to how absolutely insane they. 2 of which could easily become some of the funniest gifs to grace the internet. The first is a small clip of Judi Dench in her cat bed while in her bright green suit.Zoom in on her face for maximum laughter. And the other one is Ian Mckellen rubbing his face vigorously on other people imitating a cat while simultaneously looking like his loved one died 5 minutes prior to shooting. It gave me one of the biggest fits of laughter my family and I have ever had together.

I would almost suggest the bonus features before seeing the movie. It makes the movie 'better' and much worse at the same time. It makes you feel like a clairvoyant capable of seeing how and when the movie started slowly going down a dark path leading into into its death. Except in this case, there is no reincarnation. Thank God.
